Pressure test systems chosen by inspection firm

SI Pressure Instruments has supplied 110 TP1-AK pressure test systems to Zurich Engineering, which carries out statutory inspections on pressure systems

SI Pressure Instruments has supplied 110 TP1-AK pressure test systems to Zurich Engineering, part of the worldwide insurance and financial services organisation, Zurich Financial Services.

Zurich Engineering carries out statutory inspections on pressure systems for companies in a wide range of sectors - from petrochemicals to local government - to ensure that they meet safety standards laid down by the UK government and European parliament.

Following field trials of SI's TP1-AK, which comprises a pneumatic pump with an analogue gauge, Zurich's engineers were impressed with the quality and ease of use of the system.

Designed to complement SI's already extensive range of pressure calibration products, the TP1-AK can be used for calibration checks on pressure transmitters, pressure switches, indicators, recorders and controllers from *0.85 to 25 bar, -12.3 to 360 psi.

However, due to the diverse range of pressure systems inspected by Zurich, certain modifications were needed to ensure that all the engineers' requirements were catered for.

SI therefore tailored the kit to include a wider range of adaptors to meet this specific objective.

"Having looked at several suppliers, our surveyors and engineers were unanimous in their selection of the TP1-AK kit," said Paul Francis-Lang, Technical Standards Engineer for Zurich Engineering.

"The quality of the system was always impressive but the standard kit was not 100% suitable for some of the equipment we inspect so perhaps more impressive was that SI didn't try to sell us an off-the-peg solution - they listened to what was needed and were quickly and easily able to accommodate our specific requirements.
