Process controller takes up the baton

Sartorius has released a new process controller to replace the best selling PR1613.

Sartorius has released a new process controller to replace the best selling PR1613 The new X4 process controller retains the shape of the original, meaning older models can be replaced without difficulty when equipment is upgraded

The PR1613 was launched over 15 years ago, and was the first freely programmable unit.

The quality and reliability ensured its popularity in companies around the world with end users, engineering companies and system builders.

More than 25,000 PR1613 units and 35,000 interfaces have been sold worldwide since its launch.

Its popularity can be put down to its versatility, with compact dimensions and a variety of interfaces.

The X4 process controller was developed and introduced to the market to meet the demands of today's world of automation.

State-of-the-art technology in the analogue section, programmability to internationally recognised standards, connectivity to all current fieldbuses and a variety of tools at the MS Windows interface all combine to distinguish the X4 process controller from the rest; they provide the foundation for the success story to continue for many years to come.

The X4 process controller is available in a number of configurations for the most common weighing applications in industrial environments.

The Pro-X4 is a front-end unit with a variety of communications and dialogue functions.

The Batch-X4 is a weighing controller with internal recipe handling to allow automation of batching, manual additions and process steps.

For simple manual recipe weighing the MIX-X4 offers a compact stand-alone solution.

The IBC-X4 is designed for the direct control of automatic charge and discharge processes for IBCs (intermediate bulk containers) with powders or granulated material.

The Fill-X4 was developed for manual and automatic filling of drums and containers with fluids, the Flow-X4 for continuous charge or discharge processes from weigh-hoppers.

The Phase-X4 combined with the Sartorius ProBatch+ recipe software is a flexible control system for complex batching processes.

To mark the launch of the new unit, Sartorius is looking for the oldest PR1613 still in operation, the PR1613 at the highest altitude and the PR1613 located furthest from the manufacturing site in Hamburg, Germany.

The first 100 entries will also be entered into a draw to win an MP3 player. Request a free brochure from Sartorius UK ...
