Sartorius has launched a new microsite focused on weighing in hazardous areas, which offers advice and downloads to help companies meet the requirements of the ATEX Directive The ATEX Directive stipulates that the operator of equipment in a hazardous area must supply a written conformity assessment that verifies the safety of the equipment assembly

This must include the individual characteristic values of the equipment configuration including all connecting cables.

Explosion risk assessment also covers non-electrical equipment (eg roller conveyors).

To simplify this process, Sartorius tests the compatibility of all their explosion proof weighing equipment and describes this in Verification of Intrinsic Safety diagrams that are automatically supplied when the equipment is delivered.

These diagrams consider all combinations described for the approved equipment so that customers can use the appropriate set of Verification of Intrinsic Safety diagrams and instructions as part of their own explosion protection documents.

The new site also contains a number of useful PDF downloads, including a guide to assist companies in creating their own explosion protection documents.

It also contains extensive details of the products Sartorius offers for hazardous areas, including scales, load cells, platforms and process controllers. Request free introductory details about products from Sartorius UK ...
