With rapid traverse rates of 40 m/min, acceleration of 6 m/sec2 and a range of spindle speeds up to 12,000 revs/min, the latest Bridgeport VMC 600 vertical machining centre will rank high in the value for money machine tool comparison charts Now available through 600 Centre of Shepshed, the Bridgeport machine is very competitively priced, built to a high standard with Heidenhain TNC 410 control and provides an effective machining envelope of 600 mm by 410 mm by 520 mm

In addition, the VMC 600 can be specified with an extra 100 mm in the vertical Z-axis, higher accuracy Heidenhain linear scale positioning in all three axes, through the spindle coolant and fourth or fifth axis rotary tables.

BT 40 taper spindle power is 8.5 kW with three speed range options giving a maximum of 4,000 revs/min, 6,000 revs/min or 12,000 revs/min.

The 22 tool capacity tool magazine has an exchange time of 5.2 secs for tools which can be up to 6 Kg and 130 mm diameter with adjacent pocket left empty.

The worktable is 840 mm by 420 mm with a maximum load capacity of 500 Kg.

Positioning accuracy is five microns while repeatability is within two microns.

In addition to the high specification shopfloor conversational programmable Heidenhain TNC 410 control which is useable up to four axes, the integrated hard disk TNC 426 provides virtually unlimited memory and fast block processing for up to five axes of movement.

Digitising, datum and tool probing is available as an option.
