Using Seemage's advanced mock-up, visualisation and publishing tools, Xype can now bring the benefits of CAD data out of the proprietary world and integrate it across the enterprise.

Bristol-based company Xype has been appointed as the UK master reseller of US publishing technology, Seemage.

Best known for work within the aerospace industry, with clients such as Airbus and BAE Systems, Xype helps manufacturing and engineering companies increase productivity by maximising the potential of IT systems.

In using Seemage's advanced mock-up, visualisation and publishing tools, Xype can now bring the benefits of CAD data out of the proprietary world and integrate it across the enterprise.

The Seemage product suite allows a company's existing 3D product information to be used across departments such as manufacturing, shop floor assembly, technical publications, service support, sales, marketing and distribution.

From generating high-specification 3D illustrations to interactive assembly, installation or operational sequences, Seemage products allow traditionally unwieldy data files to be accessed on standard desktop PCs and produces small, non-proprietary files suitable for emailing - thus opening up new marketing and technological opportunities for manufacturers in the UK.

With ever increasing pressures on manufacturers to perform, being able to further use their valuable CAD data asset and effectively share technical information across both the internal and external enterprise can help organisations make significant improvements in critical areas such as time to market, customer satisfaction and, ultimately, profitability.

Talking about the opportunities in this country Pete Lewis, Managing Director of Xype, said: "Our customers realise that on one hand they have a priceless commodity in their CAD files, but also that beyond the engineering design process this asset is underutilised".

"By providing open access to this data in downstream departments such as those responsible for product documentation, service information and indeed the assembly shop itself, you are able to extract great value and competitive advantage from an existing resource".

"They key is providing the right tools to the right guy".

Bruno Delahaye, Vice President, Worldwide Sales at Seemage said: "We are delighted to have established this relationship with Xype, a company that has a proven pedigree in helping manufacturing companies solve problems with relevant IT".

"Xype recognises that Seemage products offer unique capabilities to users to extract more value from their existing product design data".
