Digital Mechanics has purchased a second Stratasys FDM Vantage i machine to keep up with its growing customer demand for both prototyping and direct digital manufacturing.
Digital Mechanics has purchased a second Stratasys FDM Vantage i machine to keep up with its growing customer demand for both prototyping and direct digital manufacturing.
Digital Mechanics produces freeform thermoplastic parts for a wide range of engineering and industrial customers, including Canadian transport engineering company, Bombadier and Swedish industrial supplier, Atlas Copco.
The new Vantage machine will allow Digital Mechanics to produce larger volumes of both prototypes and end-use parts for its rapidly expanding customer base.
Digital Mechanics already has a list of more than 100 customers after only two years in business, making it the largest FDM freeform supplier in Sweden.
"Stratasys allows us to keep up with our customers' demands", says Fredrik Finnberg, Managing Director of Digital Mechanics.
"We plan to continue to invest in FDM Vantage machines, as they give us a clear competitive advantage".
The company has built its business around Stratasys' FDM (fused deposition modeling) technology, using its machines to produce prototypes and functional fixtures.
"We were initially sceptical about using so called rapid prototyping technology to manufacture working parts for our customers, but when we tested the durability and saw the accuracy and detail of the parts it produced, we were happy to be proven wrong", adds Finnberg.
"Direct digital manufacturing has become a key revenue stream and competitive differentiator for our business and this would not be possible without Stratasys".

Stratasys' distributor Protech provides the machines, training and service to Digital Mechanics.
Protech AB is the only distributor of Stratasys FDM Vantage machines in Scandinavia.
