Actuators gain antibacklash nut option

A Servotechnic product story

HSI linear actuators are now offered with an antibacklash nut option.

HSI linear actuators available through UK agent Servotechnic are now offered with an antibacklash nut option.

This anti-backlash nut is ideal for applications that require extreme precision over extended periods of time.

This nut eliminates the minimal backlash between the leadscrew and nut interface on HSI's size 17 linear actuators and is available for noncaptive and captive designs.

The resulting compact package delivers the reliability of a stepper based linear actuator with the added precision and repeatability of an antibacklash system at an attractive price.

The spring preload design assures precision over millions of cycles.

The nuts are available in a 5.54 and 6.35mm-diameter screw for HSI's size 17 linear actuators.

The nuts are made from self-lubricating thermoplastic or glass-reinforced resin, depending on the application.

Broad ranges of preload requirements can be accommodated up to 67N.

This feature is usable for every linear actuator application, but particularly desirable when the motor has to work precisely in both directions and when going back for home positioning is not practical.

Antibacklash nuts for the range of external linear actuators are also available.

Applications for the HSI actuators are found in many areas including robotics, lifesciences, semiconductor processing, print, aerospace and general automation.
