Stepper motors deliver high accuracy

A Servotechnic product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 6, 2006

The 0.9-degree accuracy stepper motor can be placed in almost any customer supplied or designed housing in industries such as medical, optical and surveillance.

Servotechnic, UK agent for stepper motor firm Lin Engineering, has added medium sized products to its line of size 14 modular motors.

The 3609X or Y stepper motors deliver high step accuracy.

The 3609X measures 36mm in diameter, is 14.7mm thick, weighs 0.08kg and possesses a holding torque of up to 0.04Nm.

The 3609Y also measures 36mm in diameter, is 14mm thick, weighs 0.07kg and possesses a holding torque of 0.04Nm.

The windings are encapsulated in a thermally conductive ceramic based polymer which allows for quicker dissipation of heat, thus allowing for more aggressive windings in the same package.

The step accuracy is +/-1.5 arc minutes.

The 0.9-degree accuracy motor can be placed in almost any customer supplied or designed housing.

Industries using this motor in their applications include medical, optical and surveillance.
