Hybrid linear actuators feature encoder feedback.

A Servotechnic product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 20, 2006

The Haydon size 8 hybrid linear actuators have a lensed LED light source and monolithic photodetector array with signal shaping electronics to produce the two-channel bounceless TTL outputs.

Servotechnic's Haydon size 8 hybrid linear actuators are now available with encoder feedback.

Simplicity and low cost make the encoders ideal for both high and low-volume motion control applications.

The encoder module incorporates a lensed LED light source and monolithic photodetector array with signal shaping electronics to produce the two-channel bounceless TTL outputs.

The internal monolithic electronic module converts the real-time position, speed, and direction into TTL-compatible outputs.

The encoder is offered in resolutions ranging from 120 to 330 cycles per revolution or 480 to 1200 pulses per revolution.

The encoder operating temperatures are -10 to 85C.

The compact optical incremental encoder design is available with two-channel quadrature TTL squarewave outputs.

These linear actuators occupy a minimal 21mm2 space and include innovations that provide customers with high performance and endurance in a very small package.

The size 8 hybrid linear actuators are available in a wide variety of resolutions ranging from 0.0015mm per step to 0.04mm per step and deliver thrusts of up to 4.5kg without compromising long life and cost.

These models can also be microstepped for even finer resolution.

Applications requiring precise positioning and rapid motion are best suited for this motor.

Priced competitively, this product is ideal for drop-in replacements to improve performance and life or for incorporation into your next project.

In addition to standard configurations, Haydon can custom design this motor to meet specific application requirements.
