Socket and See is announcing a partnership with South Africa's leading test instrument manufacturer, Major Tech, plus publication of its first product catalogue.
Major Tech, based in Johannesburg, is the largest manufacturer and clear market leader in test instrumentation in South Africa, enjoying a market share of 70 per cent.
Seven pages of the Major Tech brand are highlighted in the first product catalogue from Socket and See, a division of the highly successful Kew Technik group of companies.
Packed full of virtually every kind of test instrument, this catalogue will undoubtedly be of interest to all electrical disciplines.
Among the many Major Tech instruments included in the catalogue are inexpensive digital multimeters, professional DMMs, voltage testers, temperature probes, infra-red thermometers, digital thermometers and more.
The catalogue covers Socket and See's full range of test instruments and includes four new products: the DIT 400 digital insulation/continuity tester, the PDL 300 multifunction digital loop tester, the PDL 200 multifunction easy loop tester and the DCF 200 multifunction dead circuit finder.
A digital insulation/continuity tester is recognised as the electrician's single most important tool, and the DIT 400 is already making a vast difference to fast, accurate testing.
Provided with three test voltages (250, 500 and 1000V), this tester has been built with a new Super Fast System (SFS) measuring technique that delivers incredibly fast readings in typically less than 1 second.
The Socket and See design team also claims a substantial increase in battery life and, with the use of just four AA batteries, the instrument will achieve in excess of 4000 tests at 500V.
Richard Penney, managing director of the Kew Technik Group, comments: "The opportunity to introduce the well respected Major Tech brand at the same time as our first Socket and See catalogue was perfect timing.
"We are now in a position to offer our customers a greater choice of quality test instruments that are sensitively priced, durable, reliable and accurate.
"2005 is clearly going to be a very exciting year for the Kew Technik Group".
Socket and See's catalogue is illustrated with full colour photographs and is available free of charge from leading electrical wholesalers or directly from Socket and See.
