Fastening rotating components to shafts has become easier with the publication of the new 96-page "Handbook of Fairloc components, the integral fastener".
Three sizes of speed reducers are offered with ball bearing mounted input shafts allowing up to 6000rev/min input speeds.
The worm gears are made of phosphor bronze and the worms of hardened steel.
The three speed reducer types are offered with standard reduction ratios from 6:1 to 100:1.
The housings are made of aluminium alloy with a black anodised finish.
The inch units, identified as the A 2Z17, A 2Z18 and A 2Z19 Series, feature a breakaway torque of from 0.5 to 7.9mNm and an output torque of 0.5 to 4.4Nm.
Their maximum backlash is 0.5 degree and their maximum input speed is 6000rev/min.
Sintered bearings are used on all output shafts for all units.
These small drives measure from 1.25 x 0.75 x 1.53in.
The smallest unit features a 0.125in-diameter input shaft and a 0.375in-diameter output shaft, both 0.75in long.
The metric units, identified as the A 2Z17M, A 2Z18M and A 2Z19M Series, features a breakaway torque from 0.5 to 8mNm and an output torque of 0.51 to 4.41Nm.
The smallest drive measures from 31.8 x 19 x 39mm.
The smallest unit features a 3mm input shaft and a 4mm output shaft both 19mm long.
Requests for any special mounting requirements, ball bearings or different shaft diameters or other modifications are welcomed.
Prices, in single unit quantities, start at $207.39 for the 8:1 ratio speed reducer unit.
Additional specifications for the A 2Z17, A 2Z18 and A 2Z19 Series of speed reducers are contained in Catalogue D790 (Inch) and Catalogue D785 (Metric) both available free on request from Stock Drive Products.
