Handbook of inch drive components
The process of selecting small inch size drive components for new prototypes or production applications just became easier.
This provides good concentricity without time-consuming adjustments and cost a fraction of the price of square collets.
In addition, the bushings, which have a circular outer surface, can be pressed into the holes of gears, pulleys and other drive components so that these components may slide over square-stock shafts.
This results in an inexpensive and efficient way to retain and transfer high transmission torques from shafts to drive components, as well as permitting shifting between mating members axially, even during rotation.
The square hole bushings can handle stock, ranging from 0.1875 to 1.25in square.
Outer diameters span from 0.375 to 2in and lengths from 0.75 to 2in.
Material is 4140 carbon steel with a hardness of 40-45 Rc.
