Designing compact serpentine drives made easier with a selection of double-sided .080 pitch timing belts from Stock Drive Products.

Designing compact serpentine drives is claimed to be easier with a selection of double-sided .080 pitch timing belts from Stock Drive Products.

The A6B16-D endless belts provide positive, nonslip, accurate power transmission without vibration, chatter or backlash.

Applications include machine tools, mowers, business machines, copiers and printers.

Their double-sided tooth action and flexibility encourages versatility in drive design because they can wind between pulleys to synchronise shaft rotations, including counter-rotating shafts.

Such serpentine characteristics are also desirable in high-reduction drives where there is a need to improve the wrap-around capabilities of belts.

In such cases, the double-sided toothed belts eliminate the need for several belts to be used to perform the same job.

They operate efficiently in small spaces where noise must be kept low.

These belts are made of durable, kevlar-reinforced polyurethane that can operate in temperatures from 17 to 82C, and intermittently to 120C.

There are four belt widths - 0.3175, 0.476, 0.635 and 0.952cm.

Special belt widths are also available.

The 24 standard sizes stocked range from 132 to 500 grooves per belt, with pitch lengths from 26.8 to 101.6cm.
