Worm gear speed reducers made by Stock Drive Products have all metal construction for use in instrumentation applications.

There are 54 worm gear types stocked in imperial units and 29 metric models.

Three sizes of speed reducers have ball bearing mounted input shafts allowing up to 6000rev/min input speeds.

The worm gears are made of phosphor bronze and the hardened worm is steel.

The three speed reducer types have standard gear ratings from 6:1 to 100:1.

The housings are made of aluminium alloy with a black anodised finish.

These units - the A 2Z17, A 2Z18 and A 2Z19 - have a breakaway torque from 5 x 10-4 to 80 x 10-4Nm and an output torque of 0.51 to 4.41Nm.

Their maximum backlash is 0.5deg and their maximum input speed is 6000rev/min for imperial and metric types.

The drive measures from 31.8mm wide by 19mm deep by 39mm high.

The smallest unit has a 3mm diameter input shaft and 4mm diameter output shaft, both 19mm long.
