SDP expands rotating component fastener range

A Stock Drive Products/Sterling Instrument product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 19, 2008

Stock Drive Products has added two more fasteners to its range of Shaftloc products.

The fasteners secure shaft-mounted parts, such as pulleys, gears and couplings, to imperial and metric shafting without marring the shaft.

New to the line are the 'A' and 'M' types.

The former is of two-piece hexagonal construction consisting of a bolt and nut that become a vibration resistant fastener when the nut is tightened to embrace the component mounted to it, while the latter is used as a locking device for rigidly mounting mechanical components onto a shaft.

The range contains all its structural features in only two parts that are put together with standard tools, making it simple to use and reuse.

The shallow angle of the thread produces large amplifications of force, allowing substantial torque to be transmitted between the component and the shaft.

Shaftloc products are available to fit 1/8in, 3/16in, 1/4in, 3/8in, 1/2in, 6mm, 10mm and 12mm shafts.
