As a result of its world leading position in the manufacturer of rolling bearings, it is easy to forget that SKF also offers the broadest range of plain bushings on the market.

As a result of its world leading position in the manufacturer of rolling bearings, it is easy to forget that SKF also offers the broadest range of plain bushings on the market A new bushings catalogue is now available detailing SKF's entire range, which has been developed through the use of advanced materials science to cover almost every plain bushing requirement

The catalogue contains full product descriptions and also a guide that simplifies the selection of bushings from this, much expanded, range.

Bushings covered by the catalogue include solid, sintered and wrapped bronze; PTFE, stainless steel backed and POM composite; PTFE polyamide and filament wound bushings.

Solid bronze bushings are the classic all round runners, made of traditional and robust bushing material, and are perfect for dirty environments and applications.

They are resistant to corrosion, high temperatures, vibration and shock loading and are intended for oscillating movements in both rotational and axial directions.

The PTFE composite is ideal for applications where the load and self-lubrication requirements are high, for example in automotive applications, materials handling equipment, home appliances and consumer goods, and textile machinery.

They offer maintenance free operation, excellent frictional properties, high operating temperatures and high sliding velocity.

The thermoplastic material of SKF PTFE Polyamide cylindrical bushings offers maintenance free, dry sliding operation.

They are designed for applications where other polymer bushings have shown insufficient operating life.

They are maintenance free, cost efficient, resistant to corrosive conditions and have electrically insulating properties.

At the heavy duty end of the spectrum sits the SKF filament wound bushing.

These can be found in construction machinery, agricultural and forestry machinery, hoisting and conveying equipment and metal working machines.

This fibre wound bushing combines the outstanding mechanical properties of glass fibre with the excellent tribological behavior of PTFE and high strength thermoplastic PES fibres. Request free introductory details about products from SKF UK ...
