Brian Taverner has been appointed as the new Managing Director of SKF Engineering Products Limited (EPL) and Machine Tool Shaft Refurbishment (MTSR), the SKF (UK) Ltd subsidiary that specializes in machine tool service and refurbishment.
Having worked for SKF for 27 years, Brian has experience in many of the company's different departments.
Although he started with the company as a toolmaker, much of his time at SKF has been in marketing, including a stint as the head of Marketing and Sales for SKF UK.
In 1996 Brian moved to the USA for four years to work in the Fluid Machinery department, returning in July of 2000 to take up a position with the Wind Energy Growth Team.
Brian commented; "I have long wanted to move back into an operational position, so I welcomed this challenge with open arms.
There are one or two people in EPL and MTSR who I know, but the majority are new to me, so that will give me an added incentive in establishing a team that will both succeed and enjoy itself.".
