SKF launches big range of parts for machine tools
A complete package of products, aimed specifically at machine tool builders and users, has been unveiled by SKF Engineering Products Limited.
The standard spindles can be supplied either as belt driven or motorised and are available as cartridge or block units.
The spindle range is complemented by a global network of spindle rebuild and bearing service centres, which are strategically located to provide a 'local' service almost anywhere in the world.
The range of standard spindles includes high frequency grinding spindles.
Like the spindles used in SKF's own plants for manufacturing bearings, high frequency grinding spindles are designed for applications involving high operating speeds and relatively low load requirements.
Also included in the range are high performance motorised spindles which are typically used in high speed milling/turning applications where high production levels demand higher speeds, increased power and extended service life.
The typical SKF spindle for these applications has a robust construction to withstand the rigours machine tool applications.
Finally, when spindle applications call for speeds higher than conventional bearings can normally handle, air-bearing spindles are the logical solution.
SKF EPL supplies a high quality range of these spindles which require no lubrication and are typically used in high precision machinery. Request a free brochure from SKF UK ...
