SKF fan upgrade solutions employ self-aligning bearings, advanced plummer (pillow) block housings and automatic lubrication systems.
Seals boost food production safey
SKF Economos' new seals can be quickly and simply found with standard metal detection equipment should any small pieces fall into the product being processed.
However the PDAB series offers a more compact design, using a single housing where the bearings need not be self-aligning.
The units also use SKF deep groove ball bearings (series 63), which provide improved running accuracy in a stiffer arrangement.
The bearings on the shaft are situated in a single housing, to give the benefits of quiet operation and the elimination of misalignment.
The unit can be quickly installed, using only four bolts to secure it to a surface.
In addition, as the shaft ends have been finished and fitted with key, end plate and screw, the mounting of associated components, such as the impeller, pulley or coupling, is simple, with no risk of damaging or contaminating the bearings.
The robust deep groove ball bearings are able to accommodate the axial loads involved, as well as operating at high speed.
The gap-type seals between shaft and cover are reinforced by nitrile rubber (NBR) V-rings, which also allow excess grease to escape and are suitable for operating temperatures of between -40 and +100C.
Although PDAB two-bearing units are designed primarily for the support of overhanging shafts which carry the impeller of fans, meeting the ever increasing demands for higher fan pressures, they can also be applied successfully in a number of other applications, such as centrifugal pumps, circular saws and grinding spindles.
All units are ready greased with a rust inhibiting, mineral oil and lithium base grease.
The series consists of nine basic sizes for shaft diameters of between 20 and 60mm. Request a free brochure from SKF UK ...
