The telescopic ceiling-mounted design provides hospital staff with more free space in the operating theatre until the microscope is needed.

The motor powered actuator can then be accurately lowered to any position, from rest to 500mm, to allow the swing arm and optical head to be brought into the field of operation quickly with a minimum of effort.

Ceiling mounted microscopes also make it easier for many persons to be active close to the patient, even with additional equipment, and allow access to the patient from all sides.

This makes surgery smoother and quicker - beneficial to both the patient and the surgical team.

In contrast to floor-based mobile systems, a ceiling mounted microscope is less likely to suffer damage when being moved around the operating theatre when cleaning is needed.

The SKF system is a customised package, designed for the medical industry, meeting the necessary standards for safety, hygiene and reliability.
