Immersion pumps save energy
A seal-less design and closed impeller with a modular construction that enables each Spandau high-pressure immersion pump to function efficiently and to be easily configured.
SKF has introduced its latest range of Spandau high-pressure immersion pumps for use with oil, lubrication and coolant systems, and are suitable for a wide range of industrial applications Called the PX range, the latest pumps have been developed to save energy and lower maintenance costs, combining a seal-less design and closed impeller with a modular construction that enables each unit to function efficiently and to be easily configured

Seals boost food production safey
SKF Economos' new seals can be quickly and simply found with standard metal detection equipment should any small pieces fall into the product being processed.
The latest PX high-pressure immersion pumps can deliver flow rates up to 500 litres a minute, at pressures of 25bar, with a maximum delivery head of 250m and an operating temperature range of -10 to +90C.
Each pump is constructed from either a tough cast iron or stainless steel body, uses industry standard motors and a high-grade stainless steel motor and impeller shaft, separated by a robust coupling.
Instead of a conventional seal, the latest PX pumps can also be fitted with a gap bush immediately beneath the reservoir lid to allow any leakage from the pressure chamber or shaft to be drained directly back into the reservoir; this prevents external leaks and helps to extend service life still further.

Y-bearing units handle heat and corrosion
The VA201 range of Y-bearing units suits applications where operating temperatures are between -40 and +250C and the VA228 series suits environments of between -150 and +350C.
In addition, the modular construction of each pump makes it easy to specify the correct operating pressure, delivery rate, immersion depth, motor output, materials of construction and accessories.
For example, the impeller body, including both shaft and casing, can easily be extended by the addition of extra sections to allow the unit to be used in tanks or reservoirs of varying depths.
The latest PX range has been designed to be quick and simple to install, using industry standard DIN EN 12157 fittings, and easy to service, with all maintenance parts being accessible from outside the tank or reservoir.
The range includes both the compact PXK, which is intended for installation in machinery where space is limited, and the PXA, which incorporates a pre-programmable frequency convertor within the motor unit.
The PXA is particularly useful in applications with varying demand or where energy consumption needs to be tightly controlled, as the output of the motor and thus of the pump unit can be automatically regulated to meet changing process conditions.
The latest PX range of high-pressure immersion pumps form part of SKF's range of lubrication systems for industrial and off-highway use and are backed by the company's global network of manufacturing and customer support centres. Request a free brochure from SKF UK ...
