Incorporating the latest technological advancements, the SRU rotary actuator is at the leading edge of technology.

Incorporating the latest technological advancements, the SRU rotary actuator is at the leading edge of technology.

One of the highlights of the SRU is the guidance of the pistons through sleeves.

The pistons have no direct contact with the housing, and due to this fact, fast and low cost maintenance is possible by an easy exchange of the sleeves.

Furthermore, regulation of the desired end position can be achieved by adjusting the sleeves.

The position can be fixed by using a radial clamping device.

Fine adjustment is conducted very easily, and the adjusted position will not be changed by the locking mechanism.

The incorporation of hydraulic dampers ensures low vibration end position dampening, thus longevity of life for the maximum number of operating cycles.

The drive is pneumatic for powerful and easy handling.

Furthermore the rack and pinion system ensures precise transmission of drive power to rotary movement.

Due to the option of having either a single or a double pneumatic actuation, a precise graduation of torque can be achieved.

With only six sises, 12 torque values between 1.6 and 72Nm can be realised.

Existing technology offers an unlocked mid position, Schunk offers as a new feature the mechanically locked mid position.

This locking is hydraulically dampened and is stopped pneumatically.

As a result, cycle times are shortened considerably and higher accuracy is achieved.

The integrated air feed through and the centre bore through the pinion allow power cables and hoses to pass through unhindered and thus avoid the twisting of external cables.

Additionally, space requirements are reduced and the process safety is increased.

There are two different type of proximity switches to choose from.

The magnetic switches are inserted in the grooves on the side of the unit so an interference contour is avoided.

The inductive switches are mounted next to the pinion.

Optional rotating angles are available.

Two-position (0/180 degrees) and three-position (0/90/180 degrees) units are available.

Furthermore a precise adjustment of the end position between +/- 3 or 90 degrees can be easily realised.

With this higher flexibility, the end position is adjustable according to the requirements.

Air connections are possible from either end, from the rear or from the bottom.

The mounting of the unit is possible from the rear side or from the bottom.

The lightest possible housing is achieved by using an anodised aluminium alloy.

The SRU is perfectly matched to all requirements in respect of both performance and price.

All features are available for all six sises of unit ensuring that a suitable unit is available for each application.
