Tool clamp set for launch at Mach 2006

Tool holder can clamp diameters as small as 0.3mm with h6 shank tolerances and is based on polygonal clamping technology.

At Mach 2006 on stand 5129, Schunk will be introducing the Tribos Micro-Mini range for secure and precise clamping of tools with small shank diameters.

The tool holder can clamp diameters as small as 0.3mm with h6 shank tolerances.

Based on the Tribos polygonal clamping technology, the Micro-Mini eliminates the need for special cutting tools with larger tool shanks - reducing set up times and enhancing productivity.

It is available as standard in HSK-E sizes of 25, 32 and 40, or as 100mm long by 12mm diameter shank universal tool extensions.

The clamping principle of the extensions works on the elastic restoring forces of the tool holder steel to clamp cutting tools securely and quickly.

The clamping process can be completed within seconds by a hydraulic clamping device - no heat is required.

The Schunk SVP-2 manual clamping or the SVP-3 automatic clamping devices are available with the corresponding reduction inserts.

The run-out accuracy and repeatability of the tool holder system is better than 3um.

Using the rotational symmetric design, a basic counter balance of less than 4g/mm is guaranteed.

Since the Tribos system has no movable components, it is maintenance free with a long tool life.

It is suitable for the micro metal cutting industries such as the watch-making, electrode countersinking or PCB sectors.
