A SKS Engineering product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 6, 2009

XYZ Machine Tools has appointed SKS Engineering as its distributor in Scotland to support the full XYZ range throughout the region.

SKS will be exhibiting the latest XYZ CNC lathes and milling machines at the Manufacturing Technology Scotland show, which is scheduled to take place on 11-12 November at the SECC in Glasgow.

The Prototrak SLX1630 lathe has a between-centres capacity of 760mm and a swing over the bed of 400mm, while the Prototrak SMX3500 mill has X, Y and Z travels of 770mm, 500mm and 540mm respectively.

Both feature the Prototrak control system; it is claimed that minimal training is required to operate the system.

Programs are created by following the same steps an operator would use to manually produce a part.
