Optical transmission of SafetyBUS p data
Hokuyo Automatic of Osaka, Japan, is offering devices for the optical transmission of safety-related data within a SafetyBUS p network.
Different models with several protective heights reaching 1650mm and operating distances up to 25m are available to meet all customer needs.
The emitter-receiver units are optically synchronised and contain all the control circuits, inputs and outputs inside the 35x40 mm housing.
The connections for power, SafetyBUS p communication and I/O lines are made via M12 connectors on the bottom of the units.
Rotary switches located in the front side of the receiver unit guarantee rapid and safe device setting and interfacing with the SafetyBUS p network.
The light curtain functionality includes self-checking, start and manual or automatic reset, emergency stop management and total and partial muting.
Intelligent configuration and data communication between the light curtain and the programmable safety controller ensure that the appropriate configuration is used.
Should a light curtain be replaced, the configuration data is uploaded automatically into the equipment, thereby reducing downtime to the minimum.
The direct SafetyBUS p interface is effective for many different types of applications, in accordance with the light curtain profile.
These include press transfer and automated robotic applications in distributed manufacturing plants in the automotive industry, packaging industry, woodworking and materials handling.
