Akar comes to Solartron Mobrey from Vitec Group where he was Strategy and Business Development Manager for the company's Communications and Broadcast Camera Divisions.
Much of his earlier career has been with Siemens in various roles in Turkey, Germany and UK including international sales and marketing management and more recently, Project Manager - Mergers and Acquisitions within Automation and Drives Division.
His academic qualifications also reflect this combination of technical, marketing and business experience.
He has a BSc in electrical and electronic engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey, and a Siemens corporate MBA from Duke University, Durham - USA.
Commenting on his new role Akar said: "Solartron Mobrey is a major player primarily in European process instrumentation markets, known by the quality of its products and services.
Our aim will be to build up the same reputation globally, setting new standards to the customer care, quality and product innovation".
