Emerson has expanded its dry product measurement capabilities with a new central controller for multiple Mobrey ULT ultrasonic level transmitters.

Emerson Process Management has announced its new SCU multicontroller unit for use with Mobrey ULT ultrasonic level transmitters or any Hart enabled field device.

This extension to the company's range of level sensors for dry products - which are used in industries such as quarrying, aggregates, chemical, and food - enables operators to view data from, and program, up to 15 Mobrey ULTs from one central control room.

As a result companies save time and manpower previously spent checking individual tank readings at locations throughout the facility.

The SCU is compatible with existing Hart-compliant two- or four-wire units and has an integrated LCD panel that facilitates a wide variety of display functions, including tank content visualisation made possible by echo analysis of the ULT.

SCU output options include 4-20mA and relays which are programmed via a six-button keypad housed in an IP65 enclosure complete with transparent cover.

The new controller adds to the breadth of Mobrey level instrumentation that features reliability and best fit for applications contributing to the greater than two percent operations improvement made possible by PlantWeb digital architecture from Emerson.
