SR displacement transducers launched by Solartron

A Solartron Metrology product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 4, 2009

Solartron Metrology has introduced the SR range of displacement transducers for use in demanding environments.

Based on the company's S range, the SR series is available with environmental ratings up to IP68 and pressures of 100 bar.

All models have stainless-steel bodies and can be supplied with mineral-insulated cable for a high level of chemical resistance.

High-temperature options are also available.

The absolute linear position sensors were developed to meet customer demand for rugged sensors to operate in harsh conditions such as those encountered in process control, hydraulics, laboratory, transport and offshore applications.

DC/DC and 4-20mA versions use on-board signal conditioning developed for the S series, as well as offering extra screening against electrical interference.

Their modular construction allows guided or free core versions to be specified, and screw-mount options enable easier installation where conventional mounting clamps could be a problem.

Stock is available with short lead times as a result of Solartron's investments in manufacturing plant, tooling and calibration systems at its manufacturing facility in West Sussex.
