Solartron probe measures internal bore dimensions

A Solartron Metrology product story

A compact analogue probe has been added to Solartron Metrology's range of precision transducers.

The Mini Probe is a low-profile gauge for measuring the internal dimensions of bores and other confined spaces in workpieces.

With a total measuring range of 0.5mm, the rugged, IP65-rated probe provides a high level of repeatability in both planes of operation.

According to the company, its parallel spring construction is more robust than a single leaf arrangement and ensures that the high repeatability will be sustained over a longer working life, even when the probe is rotated in bores with key slots or lubrication ports.

A tungsten carbide contact tip is fitted as standard, and a selection of customer replaceable M2 threaded tips is available for special applications.

Also available is Solartron's digital Mini Probe, with a 1mm total measurement range and a resolution programmable to less than 0.01um.
