The Hawk-I is an advanced manufacturer-independent, rack monitoring and management device.

Sinetica specialises in integrating nonnetworked, non-SNMP devices onto the network, and the application of this technology to environmental monitoring within the computer room or rack.

The Hawk-i is a cost-effective, zero-U device, which allows users to integrate rack-monitoring sensors onto the network as SNMP compliant agents, so that the full rack environment can be remotely monitored and interrogated, from the network management station.

This is combined with powerful output control, for proactive management of the rack system.

The unit can monitor eight digital inputs, or alarms, and also has extended temperature monitoring of up to four inputs, helping network managers to address the problem of rack hot spots.

Four logic-controlled digital outputs (two 5A AC, two DC) allow users to preconfigure actions to critical alarm conditions.

For example, if temperature should cross a user-configured threshold, then a fan tray could be triggered to cool equipment.

It also has support for two controllable 12-socket, intelligent PDUs.

The Hawk-i also features a keypad port for access control.

This is accessible over the network, using SNMP and Telnet, and features memory store, master and user PIN change and emergency door open.
