CAD to Motion from SmartDrive is a new piece of software that will take any CAD drawing that is in DXF file format and provide a list of moves for a stepper or servo controller program.

CAD to Motion from SmartDrive is a new piece of software that will take any CAD drawing that is in DXF file format and provide a list of moves that can be cut and pasted into a stepper or servo controller program.

When combined with SmartDrive's Series 2 range of stepper and servo systems, it allows the rapid creation of complex interpolated motion profiles - including circles and ellipses - without the need for programming.

The package also includes the facility to convert scanned drawings into DXF files, plus font training that allows it to recognise users' handwriting.

The Series 2 family is available as a stand-alone bookcase controller or as an integrated stepper/servo system in Eurocard format.
