SMC Pneumatics (UK) Limited have released a new stand alone electronic controller.

The PneuAlpha is compact, yet powerful, and is capable of handling a vast range of applications from industrial to domestic systems.

Programming the controller is simple - the unit utilises Visual Logic Software (on CD Rom) which can be manipulated via a personal computer.

Anyone can drag, drop, point and click their way through a complete programme - perfect for the novice and yet sophisticated for the more demanding user.

If control is required quickly, the PneuAlpha allows programming, editing, accessing data or inputting data by using only the keys on the front panel - no tools or cables are required.

This is ideal in areas where a computer would not be available, such as during maintenance operations on the shop floor.

Features include a 1500 byte EEPROM memory, real-time clock, high current switching relays, analog inputs, security code clearance, 100 hours memory back-up, transistor outputs, PNP/NPN Inputs, LCD display and network capability.

The PneuAlpha has the greatest level of functionality for any controller in it's class, combined with compact size, DIN rail or screw type mounting, these features enhance it's ability to be installed wherever required.

Applications range from: * A stand alone Programmable Logic Controller * Domestic Programmable Controller for Burglar Alarm, Central Heating, Garden Lighting, etc * Small industrial programmable control for the automation of production machines or processes, etc * Used in conjunction with Intelligent Control Valve Island the PneuAlpha will provide the interrogation of component quality and improve planned maintenance systems (this option will be available early in 2000) The unit is available as 24V DC /100-240v AC (50-60Hz).

Extensions to the Pneu Alpha will be released early in 2000 and will include the above mentioned Intelligent Control Valve Island and Fieldbus networking with ASI Board.
