SMC Pneumatics has a new range of escapement cylinders that are ideal for separating and feeding individual parts from vibratory feeders, magazines and hoppers Supplied with one or two "fingers", this product is the ideal choice for the physical separation of parts and can easily incorporate auto switches

The two-finger version, the MIW, is a slider guide cylinder with two sequentially operating fingers.

This sequential operation uses a mechanically locking cam, to control the reliable separation of work pieces.

The MIS one-finger version has an independent finger for free setting of timing and mounting, to accommodate the work pieces moving down a line.

Both versions feature a floating mechanism, used to connect the piston and fingers.

This promotes longer life by eliminating offset loads on the piston, which would cause uneven wear of the seal.

In addition, separation of the piston and fingers allows simple replacement of the fingers, for easy maintenance.

With three different variations, the fingers can be supplied as a basic version, tapped on upper and lower faces, or tapped on all faces.

Giving flexibility, depending upon item being fed.

Mounting is possible from two directions, using the through holes from the top face, or using tapped holes in the body from the bottom face.

Options include stroke end adjustment giving precise adjustment of the retracted position of each piston rod, and a scraper to prevent entry of dust to protect internal components.

Bore sizes range from 12 to 20mm, depending on model chosen.
