Low profile for rodless cylinders

A SMC Pneumatics (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 8, 2003

The compact CY1F series of low-profile magnetically coupled rodless cylinders will have particular appeal to manufacturers of light electrical and electronic parts, and builders of transfer machines.

With dramatic reductions in height, length and weight, the new compact CY1F series from SMC Pneumatics will have particular appeal to manufacturers of light electric and electronic parts, and builders of transfer machines for light components.

To meet the market demand, this compact and low-profile series offers reductions of 27-29% in height, 31-50% in weight, and reductions in length of between 27 and 110mm.

The integrated construction of the guide and actuator makes for easier maintenance, as the actuator part of the unit can be removed without disturbing the pipework, thus minimising downtime.

The piping is centralised, giving the choice of connection to both sides of the product.

Built-in shock absorbers come as standard, with four options and combinations of adjustment bolts.

Standard bore sizes are 10, 15 and 25mm, with stroke lengths of 50 to 600mm.
