Rodless cylinders save machine space

A SMC Pneumatics (UK) product story

New additions to the CY series of magnetically coupled rodless cylinders are ideal for space-saving applications, such as cutting and transferring in horizontal, inclined and vertical operations.

The latest additions to the CY series of magnetically coupled rodless cylinders are ideal for space-saving applications, such as cutting and transferring in horizontal, inclined and vertical operations.

The CY3B and CY3R offer improved durability in bearing performance; this is due to an increase in wear ring length.

And, by incorporating a special resin soft wiper on the dust seal, ideal lubrication on the external surface of the cylinder tube is achieved, therefore reducing sliding resistance, and reducing the minimum operating pressure.

The result of these improvements is increased operational performance and improved product lifespan.

By adopting this new soft wiper, the minimum operating pressure has also been reduced by 30%.

The CY3 is available in bore sizes of 15, 20, 25, 32, and 40mm with stroke options between 50 and 1000mm.

In addition, for bore sizes of 20mm or larger, three types of piping port threads are available Rc, NPT and G thread.

Smaller bore sizes are offered with M thread only.
