One of the UK's leading awards body for engineering and technology, EMTA Awards Limited, has given approval to SMC Pneumatics for pneumatic technology, electro-pneumatics and PLC training courses.

One of the UK's leading awards body for engineering and technology, EMTA Awards Limited, has given approval to SMC Pneumatics for pneumatic technology, electro-pneumatics and PLC technology training courses.

This means that all candidates attending SMC courses will now be able to elect to obtain a Certificate of Verified Achievement (CVA) upon successful completion of any of the above courses.

EMTA Awards Limited (EAL) was established with the sole purpose of helping industry invest in its future through vocational qualifications, and as a sister company to SEMTA (Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies) EAL has unrivalled expertise in meeting the qualification needs of the engineering and technology sector.

With the latest report from the Adult Learning Inspectorate stating that too many providers of work-based engineering training are not up to scratch, and that nearly a third are falling short of the required standard, this award recognises SMC's efforts to provide quality and effective training, within the fluid power industry.

The report also says "there is an urgent need for external verifiers from awarding bodies to ensure that assessment practice and the quality assurance of assessment are robust".

SMC has invested heavily in training, and as the world's leading manufacturer of pneumatic components and automation equipment, the company has the resources, skills and expertise in providing an exceptional standard of training.

The training courses are presented by professional, experienced, and qualified trainers, and cover both theory and practical within the range.

Format of courses includes interactive workshop, real-life problem solving, practical circuit design and construction, as well as the use of state-of-the-art modules for each delegate.

Venues currently include Milton Keynes, Cumbernauld and Egham (Brunel University), and courses vary between 3 to 5 days, depending upon level chosen.

In addition, the company offers bespoke training, for customers needing a focused approach to their pneumatics training, pertinent to their own business.

SMC will tailor and ensure an exact fit to customer needs.
