Easy route to electric actuation

A novel range of actuators are in fact rodless cylinders with electric motors attached and are perfect for high precision, shock free, transfer applications from one point to another.

Over the years factory automation experts have often agreed that the perfect actuator would combine the speed, controllability and performance of an electric actuator with the easy operational ability of an air cylinder.

Now, thanks to research engineers from SMC Pneumatics, this is no longer just a daydream but a reality, following the launch of the "easy" e-rodless actuator series E-MY2C/2H.

In simple terms, these highly innovative easy actuators, are in fact rodless cylinders with an electric motor attached and are perfect for high precision, shock free, transfer applications from one point to another.

With intermediate stop capabilities and 0.01mm repeatability at both ends, the speed control can be set accurately using the integrated control panel offering ease of operation and without the need for complex programming.

Available in both cam follower and high precision guide types, in 16 and 25mm bore sizes, these easy actuators have been designed to operate with payloads of between 5 and 10kg where their belt drives can rapidly accelerate at 0.5g reaching speeds up to 1000mm/s.

As the motor can be mounted almost anywhere on the e-rodless actuator, layout problems have been virtually eliminated and ease of maintenance has also been addressed as the actuator and guide sections can be separated easily.
