Rotary joint accommodates 16 air circuits

A SMC Pneumatics (UK) product story

SMC Pneumatics has added a further model to its range of low-torque metal-seal-type MQR rotary joints with the launch the new MQR16 option.

With the current trend for automation systems to include operations involving rotation and horizontal transfer, SMC Pneumatics has added a further model to its range of low-torque metal-seal-type MQR rotary joints with the launch the new MQR16 option.

Accommodating 16 air circuits in a highly innovative spiral port arrangement, MQR16 offers even more connectability and subsequent choice of tube direction.

With its hard aluminium and stainless steel construction, low maintenance performance is guaranteed and early tests have already indicated an impressive operational life time in excess of one hundred million rotations.

With low and high speed capabilities, the MQR16 can operate with a rotational frequency of up to 200rev/min and impressively its torque remains unaffected even when left idle for long periods of time.
