Cylinder range extends upwards and down

A SMC Pneumatics (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 10, 2005

Previously only available in bore sizes of 12 to 20mm, the MIW/MIS cylinder range has been increased to include a compact 8mm option plus two bigger sizes of 25 and 32mm.

Manufacturers using automated assembly lines who require precise workpiece separation from either conveyor or feeder belts systems can now achieve even more precise control using the latest addition to the escapement cylinder range from SMC Pneumatics.

Previously only available in bore sizes of 12 to 20mm, the existing MIW/MIS cylinder range has been increased to include a compact 8mm option for those smaller applications plus two bigger sizes, 25 and 32mm, for those larger applications which often have higher loading conditions.

In all other respects these cylinders remain the same, with the two finger type - Series MIW - offering two sequentially operated fingers controlled via air passages and using a mechanically locking cam.

And with the single finger option - Series MIS - offering free setting of timing and mounting positions dependant on the type of work pieces that are moving down the line.

Further options include fitted scraper and stroke adjuster for precise adjustment of the retracted position of each piston rod and three possible finger type variations - basic, tapped on single face or tapped on both faces.

With dual mounting options and either two or three piping direction possibilities, dependant on the model, separation of workpieces has never been easier.
