Piston-free cylinder is a smooth operator

A SMC Pneumatics (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 25, 2005

The Series MQP air-operated thrust cylinder boasts outstanding low-friction yet precise force performance.

Semiconductor and electronic component manufactures looking for a single-acting low-friction air-operated thrust cylinder now have an award winning solution, following the launch of Series MQP from SMC.

With their unique piston-free construction, the MQP's sliding resistance has been dramatically reduced, resulting in outstanding low-friction yet precise force performance.

Available in five bore sizes from 4 to 20mm, and with a wide range of thrust forces, these latest metal seal actuators have been specially designed to overcome the problems of both lurching and stick slip, which make delicate and precise linear control virtually impossible.

Additional benefits when using these new cylinders focus on ease of maintenance and because of very small thrust variations between each actuator model, they are easily replaced without the need to constantly re-adjust the pressure circuit.
