Based on SMC's existing ISA air bridge type differential pressure sensor, this newly improved version can now detect a work piece accurately and reliably at distances of between 0.01 and 0.5mm.
One of the challenges faced by engineers today is the difficulties when trying to establishing the position of a workpiece during precision machining, or pressing operations, when optical checks are impossible due to adverse environmental conditions.
Engineers from world leader SMC have now found the perfect answer with the release of their improved Series ISA2 air catch sensor.
Based on SMC's existing ISA air bridge type differential pressure sensor, this newly improved version can now detect a work piece accurately and reliably at distances of between 0.01 and 0.5mm.
With its large graduated dial, integral pressure gauge and three colour LED indicator, the setting and monitoring of the optimum workpiece position can be undertaken both quickly and accurately.
With its lower air pressure operational requirements, the new ISA2 ensures that compressed air consumption is kept to an absolute minimum resulting in improved energy savings.
Currently the ISA2 is available with an optional fitted regulator and two port solenoid control unit that can be mounted directly to either the left or right side of the manifold and due to its modular construction, it can also be ordered in either centralised wiring or individual wiring types.
Both DIN rail and bracket mounting options are also available.
Designed for use with dry filtered air, at operating temperatures of between 0 and 60C, the ISA2 meets IP66 enclosure protection and IP65 for the solenoid valve, respectively.
