Air slide table adapts to micro tasks

A SMC Pneumatics (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 6, 2006

This miniature double-acting pneumatic slide table is ideal for applications where micro size and high accuracy are needed, such as positioning, clamping and lightweight workpiece transfer.

When you've already developed one the most comprehensive ranges of air slide tables in the marketplace, it's hard to see where you can improve an already successful product.

However, that was the challenge asked of the development engineers at SMC.

And the company's new micro addition - the Series MXJ air slide table - is the perfect response.

Available in three bore sizes - 8mm, 6mm and an incredibly tiny 4.5mm model - with heights from only 10mm, these slide tables offer probably the smallest solution around.

With rigid mounting surfaces, due to the use of an L shaped hardened stainless steel slide table, running on a noncirculating linear guide, incorporating steel balls, even in its smallest size two auto switches can be rail mounted with ease.

Both piping ports and switch rails can be ordered on either sides and further standard options include stroke adjuster, axial piping and clean room specifications.

Designed originally for the electronics industry, this miniature, double acting pneumatic slide table should be considered in any applications where micro size and high accuracy are needed, such as positioning, clamping and lightweight workpiece transfer.
