Stainless steel fittings handle hot duties

A SMC Pneumatics (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 22, 2006

Grease free stainless-steel fittings offer very high levels of corrosion resistance and can also be used with numerous piping materials.

Machine builders requiring high temperature or corrosion resistant insert fittings for applications involving air, water or steam now have the hottest solution around following the launch of SMC's new stainless steel fitting range, Series KFG.

Originally developed for the food, electronic and car industries, where piping is often exposed to high temperatures, including water or steam, the KFG fittings range can operate with ambient operating fluid temperatures of -5 to +150C and at operating pressures between -100kPa and +1MPa.

With their stainless steel 316 construction and unique nonrubber seal insert connection, this range of grease free fittings offer very high levels of corrosion resistance and can also be used with numerous piping materials including FEP, PFA, soft and regular nylon, polyurethane and polyolefin.

Currently available in half, straight, elbow union and both branch tee and tee union options, the fittings can accommodate tube sizes from 4 to 12mm with port sized thread connections from R 1/8 to R 1/2.
