SMC develops power-saving solenoid valves

A SMC Pneumatics (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 18, 2009

SMC Pneumatics has launched its latest solenoid valves based on the company's Series VX valves, but with the addition of some power-saving features.

Using the pulse width modulation method (PWM), an in-built power-saving circuit ensures exactly the same valve performance from the new VXE valves, while achieving 30 per cent less power consumption - when holding - compared to the standard VX range.

The VXE range also offers a reduction in coil heat - of up to 50 per cent - and reduced CO2 emissions.

Suitable for use with water, air and oil, Series VXE, which is both RoHS directive compliant and IP65 enclose approved, is currently available in single unit and manifold options, in a range of sizes, and in 12V and 24V direct current models.

The Series VXE is fully inter-changeable with the Series VX ranges.
