Smith Flow Control has signed a memorandum of understanding with Almaty-based contractor Dasu.

Smith Flow Control has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Almaty-based contractor Dasu.

The agreement aligns the two companies together to optimise Kazakh content in the forthcoming bidding process for Kazakh and foreign oil and gas investment projects under way in Kazakhstan.

As part of the agreement SFC ran a 10-day programme at its UK headquarters to train Dasu technicians in the design and application of interlocks, field installation and commissioning.

Commenting on the agreement Mike Smith, Vice Chairman of SFC said, "This agreement is an important step in our ongoing expansion in central Asia.

The training programme will qualify Dasu technicians so that they will be able to offer long-term support and after-sales servicing to clients of SFC products in Kazakhstan".
