Smith Flow Control has appointed Setec as its new Spanish distributor.

Setec (Servicios Tecnicos y Especialidades) has almost 50 years' experience in supplying process equipment to Spanish industry and is well-known to the principal engineering contractors and major oil and petrochemical producers in the country.
"We expect the Smith Flow Control account to be a major source of income over the coming years", said Setec President Hugo Castelli.
"This will be due both to the sale of safety interlocks for new projects as well as new installations of Easi-Drive and Flexi-Drive portable valve operating devices resulting from our site service work", he added.
Setec has a dedicated service department with a great deal of experience in the hydrocarbon processing industry.
The company now has fully trained personnel who can measure valves for Smith Flow Control interlocks and offer advice or assistance to clients in correct installation procedures.
Smith Flow Control's interlocks ensure all valve handling procedures are carried out in the correct sequence, reducing the chances of serious accidents due to operator error.
In addition to valves, interlocks can also be used to protect switches, vessel closures, access guards, tanker loading systems and pressure and temperature sensing systems.
