Process safety specialist Smith Flow Control has appointed Chemie und Energie-Armaturen (CEA) as its exclusive German distributor.
Process safety specialist Smith Flow Control has appointed Chemie und Energie-Armaturen (CEA) as its exclusive German distributor.
CEA has extensive experience in safety interlocking and is the ideal partner to help Smith Flow Control consolidate its position in the German process market.
"We expect the Smith Flow Control account to be a major source of income over the coming years", said CEA's General Manager Peter Berg.
"This will be due both to the sale of safety interlocks for new projects as well as new installations of Easi-Drive and Flexi-Drive portable valve operating devices resulting from our site service work", he added.
Smith Flow Control's interlocks ensure all valve-handling procedures are carried out in the correct sequence, reducing the chances of serious accidents due to operator error.
In addition to valves, interlocks can also be used to protect switches, vessel closures, access guards, tanker-loading systems and pressure and temperature sensing systems.
