Application areas include automation of UPS systems and monitoring from remote places.

The UPSLink: supports 10BaseT/100 Base Fast Ethernet network; supports industry standard SNMP MIB II and UPS MIB; supports various commercial NMS including Novell, HP OpenView, Sun NetManager, and IBM NetView; can be configured via web, telnet or NMS; features automatic email delivery of system log and statistics; and has management software for configuration and administration.

Security is provided through IP address filtering.
