The Parani 10 has a nine-pin female DB-9 connector, uses a dipole antenna and is a Class 1, Bluetooth 1.1 compliant device.

The adapter is developed for long-range wireless serial communications, said Sena.
Nominal transmit range is 200 metres and can be up to 1.2 kilometres when using the optional patch antenna.
A LED provides instant information on Bluetooth link status said Sena.
With claimed supporting data transfer speeds up to 230Kbit per second, the Parani 10 Bluetooth serial adapter is suitable for industrial applications that require data logging, wireless sensor control and monitoring in production facilities.
In medical applications, physicians with hand held devices are able to view and update medical databases and patient's charts instantly reducing redundant paper work, increasing efficiency and lowering hospital costs.
Other applications include retail POS, bar code scanners and credit card readers, restaurant order and receipt printers, security systems, gas pumps, and outdoor sign boards.
Included in the package with the Parani 10 is the configuration utility which allows custom configuration of settings such as serial port parameters, flow control, baud rate, connectable mode, discoverable mode and security.
