Modules embed Bluetooth connectivity directly onto the circuit boards of RS232 based equipment like security systems, POS, industrial machinery and medical devices.
New from Sena Technologies, the Parani-ESD is an embedded type Bluetooth serial module product line designed for users who are wishing to embed Bluetooth connectivity directly onto the circuit boards of RS232 based equipment like security systems, POS, industrial machinery and medical devices.
It can be connected to the device via built-in UART interface and communicate with other Bluetooth enabled devices such as mobile phones, handheld computers and laptops.
No software and drivers required.
Supporting General access and Serial port profiles, and data transfer speeds up to 230Kbit/s, the Parani-ESD product family offers four models.
The ESD100 and ESD110 are Class 1 type Bluetooth modules.
Nominal transmit distance is 100m and can be extended up to 1km (ESD110) using the optional patch antenna.
The dimensions of these modules are 27 x 27 x 14mm.
The ESD200 and ESD210 are Class 2 type Bluetooth modules.
Nominal transmit distance is 30m and can be extended up to 300m (ESD210) using the optional patch antenna.
The dimensions of these modules are 18 x 20 x 11.7mm.
Each unit can be configured and controlled by using typical AT comments.
Further, a configuration utility is included, which allows custom configuration of settings such as serial port parameters, flow control, baud rate, connectable mode, discoverable mode and security.
The benefits of integrating Bluetooth wireless capabilities include: eliminating cable installation cost, reduce installation and setup, while adding wireless device monitoring and diagnostics.
